<![CDATA[April Fool's Day]]>Mon, 01 Apr 2024 13:03:02 GMThttp://ellanvhow.org/elanvow-preservation/april-fools-dayApologies. We missed the March update yesterday in favor of Easter festivities. No new activity on preserving the island strongholds but there is local activity to preserve a local heritage web site. We may need volunteers to help. More to follow on that!]]><![CDATA[February 2024]]>Mon, 19 Feb 2024 12:55:22 GMThttp://ellanvhow.org/elanvow-preservation/february-2024No news on potential work on Inveruglas. We would be providing arms and legs to John Duncan, at best, since we have a strong working relationship with Historic Environment Scotland and have a proven team to do the work. More as that develops.

Even though there is much more to be done on Elanvow, we do not currently have work planned for 2024. Thank you for your on-going support.]]>
<![CDATA[Happy New Year! Happy Hogmanay!]]>Sun, 28 Jan 2024 14:23:23 GMThttp://ellanvhow.org/elanvow-preservation/happy-new-year-happy-hogmanayOver the Holidays, we began to consider next projects. There is still some remaining tree and site maintenance work to be done at Elanvow. and Inveruglas has much work that needs to be done. We will touch base with John Duncan on the latter. We heard last year that HES had proposed some works there and we would be happy to help.

We will also post our Outlander hike on Ben Vorlich. Macfarlanes recognized Loch Sloy in the show and, hopefully, recognized the view overlooking the loch after coming out of the tunnel. Many may not have gone that far up on the Ben Vorlich trail, but the tunnel entrance is there and that stunning view is as well.

Of course, if Sophie stepped a little closer to the edge, our Inveruglas Isle would be in view.
